The Ginger Splash is our tribute to the world and all its colourful contrasts.
To us the delicate and refined flavour of the elderflower is the
essence of the mild Nordic summers and the long light nights. The
elderflower oozes love and fertility since Freja, the Love Goddess in
the Norse mythology, is believed to have lived in the elder bush.
Despite its mildness the elderflower should be treated with care and
respect – the bush’s leaves, bark and green berries are poisonous and
you are said to lose your mind if you sleep under it.
We all know that opposites attract and in ginger the elderflower has
found its perfect companion. The ginger root is tropical, spicy and not
at all pretty. Once matured the ginger is fiery and potent. Its
fragrance and flavor is powerful and dominating but when the ginger
meets the elderflower it softens and turns gentle.
To contrast the beautiful harmony of ginger and elder flower we’ve
added a touch of licorice liqueur. The licorice gives the cocktail a
dirty twist and we love how its sweet notes and dark colour contrasts
the crystal clear gin and the fruity juices. Enjoy!
